Upcycling For Earth Day

Have you ever heard of upcycling? Upcycling is when you take something old and turn it into something new and awesome! And let me tell you, adding jewelry to clothes is one super cool way to upcycle.

At our studio, we had some scrap bracelets and vintage parts lying around that we were unusable. Instead of throwing them away, we decided to use them to create a custom jean jacket for our store's launch. We got a denim jacket from the Salvation Army and handed it over to the artist, Annika Blomberg to work her magic.

Annika took the scraps and sewed them onto the jacket in a way that made it look totally amazing. She added some fun paint and the result was a jacket that was so cool and unique. We raffled the jacket during our flagship stores Pink Pineapple launch!

So next time you have some old clothes lying around, don't throw them away! Instead, try upcycling them with some jewelry or other cool things you have lying around. Who knows, you might just create something totally awesome!

Another upcycling fact is that we also make wine glass charms! You know those little charms you put on the stems of wine glasses so you can tell whose glass is whose? Well, we make them out of old jewelry!
