Mother Knows Best!

You have to admit, mom always has the best advice. Whether it’s something heartfelt and sincere or something strange and quirky, her advice tops all others. Nothing could possibly compare to mom’s advice because she knows you better than anyone. Like when she told you to take the complimentary shampoos from the hotel, that was some smart mom advice! So in honor of all of mom’s best advice, our Sorrelli staff put together some of our favorite momisms!

“My mom would always say when I was upset about something–whether it was a fight with my friends or a break up with a boy–’is it going to matter 5 or 10 years from now?” –Laura, National Accounts Manager

“She always told me to be myself and to never do something that I would feel ashamed of if she found out.” –Amber, Marketing Intern

“My mom always said, ‘you’ve made your bed so now you can lay in it!’ Funny thing too is that she would make all four of her children make our beds before breakfast every day!” –Mary, Maintenance Supervisor

“My mom is a school teacher and loves Dr. Seuss. Her favorite quote she would say to us as kids and today as young adults is ‘those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.’” –Kelsey, Web Designer

“A phrase my mom loved was ‘I will always love you, but that does not mean I have to like you at the moment.’ Best advice ever for relationships and now being a mom myself.” –Melissa, Wholesale Sales Specialist

“Favorite quotes from my mom: ‘What comes around goes around’ and when I wanted to do something everyone else was doing I always got, ‘You’re not everybody else. If your best friend jumped off a bridge, would you follow?’ Sad thing is, I use these with my girls.” –Michelle, Wholesale Sales Specialist

“‘Use a good quality moisturizer on your face every day and night if you want to look young forever.’ She told me this when I was eight and I’ve used moisturizer since then.” –Helene, Wholesale Boutique Sales Manager

“My mother always said, ‘cleanliness is next to Godliness.’ Boy, did we know how to clean growing up. Her white glove test rivaled any college exam. Having a clean house in the 70s and 80s was more important than anything else. It’s no wonder with my expertise in cleaning that I would become a pastor’s wife upon marriage!” –Karla, Account Executive
