Homemade Blueberry Fruit Rollups
Happy Wednesday! Today we’re back in the kitchen with Ivy Oswald, our jr. jewelry designer for another summer recipe. She’s sharing a how-to for one of her childhood favorite treats: homemade fruit roll ups! You can use any type of fruit to make them, but she’s using blueberries because she and her mom Lisa have a huge harvest of them this summer. These are a great recipe to try if you have an abundance of in-season fruit and aren’t sure what to do with it!
First, you’ll need a dehydrator. Lisa and Ivy both have models similar to this one.
Here’s a step by step guide forHomemade Blueberry Fruit Roll Ups
- Blend fruit, honey, citric acid powder until well blended and smooth.
- Spray your dehydrator tray with a little bit of oil. If desired, you can also line the tray with parchment paper instead.
- Put on the lid and set the food dehydrator to 100F.
- The dehydrating time varies and can take up to 24 hours. It is done when the fruit is leather and no longer sticky to the touch.
- Cut into individual portions and roll up in parchment paper. Store in the fridge in an airtight container. You can also keep them in the fridge if you make multiple batches.
Ivy piled on the blue sparkle to match her blueberry recipe. She’s wearing the Oaklyn Long Necklace in Selvedge Denim, the Mayzel Tennis Bracelet & the Oaklyn Stacked Ring in Crystal Azure paired with a navy blouse & blue jeans.
